Wisconsin basketball has plenty of scholarships available for the 2020 class. Which prospects have already been offered by Coach Gard and Company?
Wisconsin basketball has been one of the most consistent programs in the nation over the past several seasons. With two Final Four appearances and impressive stretch of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances throughout most of the 21st century, their successes should be well-documented. The program, though, is far from the best of the country when it comes to landing recruiting wins.
This might need to change in order for the program to stay near the top of the national rankings. The powerhouse teams around the country are seemingly always putting together the occasional highly-rated class and the Badgers are averaging a national class rank of 76.6 over the past five seasons. This worked in the past under head coach Bo Ryan, who was an expert in player development with a superb system.
The program has been relatively successful under his successor Greg Gard but improved recruiting might be necessary to maintain high-level success. For the time being, Wisconsin has several scholarships available for the 2020 class and the coaching staff will need to be active in landing great fits for the program. This need may diminish if the Hauser Brothers commit to the program but there are other schools also involved in that transfer recruitment.
