Purdue basketball is one of the most consistent programs in the nation. How will their incoming 2019 recruiting class impact the future?

Purdue basketball is seemingly always near the top of the national rankings. Regardless of preseason expectations or incoming recruiting rankings, the program just finds a way to succeed every single year. Head coach Matt Painter is clearly one of the best in the business and it is hard to find a program that is better at player development than the one in West Lafayette. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that the Boilermakers also added another strong piece to their staff this offseason by hiring Micah Shrewsberry as an assistant.

At this moment, it seems as though Purdue is knocking on the door of entering the top-tier of programs in the country. They have reached the NCAA Tournament in 11 of the last 13 seasons and were just a couple of bounces away from reaching the Final Four during this past season. And while the program had to bid farewell to Ryan Cline and Carsen Edwards this season, many are already picking the team to be ranked in the preseason top-25.

Looking ahead to the future of the program, Coach Painter and Co. are bringing in a recruiting class that is ranked at No. 55 in the country. This number might not seem extremely impressive, but each of their three commits is rated in the top-210 of the class and I am not going to be the one to sell the program short on player development. It is reasonable to expect that at least one or two of these players will become stars as Boilermakers.

Let’s dive into analyzing what each commit might bring to the table for the program. (Note: All recruiting rankings used in this article were found via 247Sports Composite.)
