Justin McKoy – Cary, NC

SF | 6-foot-8 | 225 lbs | No. 214 overall

One of the more physically-ready incoming freshmen in the country, Justin McKoy already looks poised for minutes at the high-major level. Although not the most highly-rated recruit, he is a solid all-around player with a versatile offensive game. McKoy brings plenty of size at 6-foot-8 and can score in a variety of different ways. Due to his strong build, he can play either forward position and is not afraid of contact.

McKoy was a rather late addition to the Virginia roster for next season (April 15th) but he should be a valuable one. He is not quite on the same level as the other two incoming freshmen for the program but is ready to contribute. In my opinion, he should be a nice fit within the roster due to how his strengths can be displayed and weaknesses limited. This is true when it comes to his play on the defensive end of the floor. McKoy is not the quickest defender on the perimeter but uses his size quite well and positions himself tremendously.

With regards to the potential for immediate playing time, I think that McKoy is ready to play minutes from the opening game at Virginia. His recruiting ranking might not be superb but he should be a great fit at either forward slot with a skill set that can help the team in a number of ways. McKoy seems to be a hard worker and could be an instant-impact addition. He is also close friends with the next incoming commit in this piece, Kadin Shedrick.
