NBA Draft 2019: Top 25 undrafted players since 2000
The Argentinian wasn’t your normal undrafted player who took multiple years to break out. He was a solid rookie for the Chicago Bulls, scoring 8.4 points per game.
He became one of the key players from 2005 to 2009 for the franchise, scoring in double figures each year. The 6-foot-7 forward was also a good rebounder and defender and really came onto the scene in the 2006 NBA Playoffs.
Even though Chicago lost in the first round to the Miami Heat, Andres Nocioni was the breakout star. He averaged over 22 points per game in the six-game series. This included going for 18 points and 16 rebounds in the first game of the series before putting up a career-high 30 in the next battle versus the Heat.
Nocioni continued to put up good numbers with the Bulls before getting traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2009. He never could get back to the level he was at previously, whether with the Kings or the Philadelphia 76ers after getting moved again. 2012 was the last season he played before the NBA left him behind.
But Nocioni had one of the better stretches a role player could ask for over a decade ago and was a big reason Chicago was near the top of the Eastern Conference for a good while. International guys are coveted in the top of the draft, but never forget those who fly under the radar. You never know which ones can help a franchise out the most.
Career stats (514 games): 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists per game
