Hunter does have room for improvement

Even as a sophomore declaring for the draft, Hunter seems like the consummate team player and someone with clear leadership skills, and that is a good reputation to have before turning pro. In my opinion, Hunter doesn’t have weaknesses per se but because he is the type of player that does a lot of things well but nothing great, he can improve in a few areas.

While he is versatile, he isn’t particularly athletic and doesn’t have a move offensively that he can rely on as his go-to. He has improved his perimeter game in his two seasons at Virginia, he will have to continue to work on it at the next level and prove he can hit the NBA 3-pointer on a consistent basis. He is also someone who could be caught in position purgatory, too slow to stay with athletic small forwards and not strong enough to battle with power forwards, but his defensive versatility should allow him to find the spot that most fits him.

Another thing he needs to work on is being more of a force on the glass, as well as being more disruptive on the defensive end, at his size and length he should be grabbing more boards and creating more steals and blocks than he does.
