The Philadelphia 76ers have a number of picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. Which specific players should they look to target?

The Process era for the Philadelphia 76ers, specifically relating to NBA Draft assets and cap space, is arguably complete. Most of the remaining draft picks and young players were used in order to acquire Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler from the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively. Both players came with the inherent risk of being one year player rentals as they are currently unrestricted free agents heading into the 2019 off-season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have numerous decisions to make this summer including trying to re-sign Harris and Butler, potentially extending Ben Simmons rookie contract which will be a substantial cap hit and bolstering a bench that underachieved in the Eastern Conference playoffs. And that is all before even mentioning the NBA draft, which has recently been one of the most important days in Philadelphia throughout the Process era.

This year, the 76ers will not have a  draft pick in the lottery, and that will be a decided test for first year general manager, Elton Brand. Philadelphia has five picks in the upcoming 2019 NBA draft with selections at numbers 24, 33, 34, 42 and 54. While the Sixers are obviously not in the Zion Williamson sweepstakes, they can still make a splash and choose prospects that could immediately contribute to what Philadelphia is building. That is under the assumption that the prospects do not fall victim to the rookie curse in that city.

In this piece I will make the case for three draft prospects that I believe the Sixers should have high on their draft big board come June 20th.
