The 2019 NBA Draft features many of the top former college players. Where do some fit in our top-50 Big Board and how might their careers unfold?

The NBA Draft is one of the most exciting events of the sporting year. On this night, young college and international basketball stars are able to hear their names called as representatives of the future of the best basketball league in the world. For many, it is a dream come true and therefore a special night for all of those involved. In addition, the 30 NBA teams are able to finally select who their next star might be en route to building a championship contending team. For some teams, this means selecting based on a need while for others it is about taking the best player available. Regardless of strategy, this is the start of the NBA offseason, which is extremely fun and drama-filled.

At this point in time, it is nearly impossible to determine which players will transition to being the best NBA players. And while there are plenty of rankings for the incoming prospects, there are always going to be “booms” and “busts” that nobody saw coming. That, though, is part of what makes talking about the draft so entertaining. No matter how much film we watch, there are always going to be surprises. Still, creating Big Boards like this one are incredibly fun and start a conversation about who the next stars in the NBA might be.

This Big Board consists of my top-50 players in the 2019 NBA Draft. I’m sure that everyone should be able to agree on who the No. 1 overall prospect should be but there are plenty of differing opinions across the internet on who follows Zion Williamson. Until they each take the court in the NBA, it is impossible to determine what the exact order should be, but maybe (just maybe) there won’t be too many future cold takes in this piece.
