2019 NBA Draft Big Board: Top 50 player rankings, scouting reports
20. Rui Hachimura, Gonzaga
21 years old | Forward | 6-foot-9 | 234 lbs
Stats (JR): 19.7 ppg (.591/.417/.739), 6.5 rpg, 1.5 apg
Rui Hachimura put together a very strong campaign for one of the best teams in the nation during this past season. While he might not be the top NBA Draft prospect from the Gonzaga program this offseason, he could be selected in the lottery. An above-average athlete with an NBA-ready body, Hachimura is the type of player that should be able to make an impact as soon as he reaches the NBA. With regards to his playing style, Hachimura can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end. He can score from distance, work in the post, and attack off the dribble. He is not a great creator but often uses his size and quickness to make plays happen for himself. On the defensive end, he might not be elite but he can hold his own and that should continue at the next level. Hachimura does not currently boast an elite-level skill but does a fair amount of things well.
19. Romeo Langford, Indiana
19 years old | Wing | 6-foot-6 | 200 lbs
Stats (FR): 16.5 ppg (.448/.272/.722), 5.4 rpg, 2.3 apg
Romeo Langford is one of the more physically gifted players in the class. He is listed as a 6-foot-6 shooting guard with a 6-foot-11 wingspan to go along with his well-above-average athleticism. Because of this, it is easy to see why he is tantalizing as a potential lottery pick. During this past season, he put together a rather successful freshman campaign although some of his weaknesses were also on display. With regards to his playing style, there are not many guards in this class better at attacking and finishing around the rim. Langford uses his elite first step tremendously well and finishes with his strong hand seemingly at will, although he can improve with his off-hand. Additionally, he has the potential to be an excellent defender under the right coaching due to his superb physical gifts. There are also some concerns over the fact that he shot just 27.2% from 3-point range and that will need to be improved at the next level. His ceiling, though, is extremely high as a go-to scorer and solid defender. His assists per game numbers are also deceiving as he has the ability to be a strong secondary creator – it just does not show up in the stats.
