Strengths

Morant is scary fast, has scary hops, and scary court vision. It was like someone took De’Aaron Fox’s speed, with a young Derrick Rose’s athleticism, and Rajon Rondo’s playmaking ability and poof Morant was created. He is electrifying every single time he touches the ball. One play in particular shows off all of what Ja Morant is.

In the NCAA tournament against Marquette he put a defender on what is arguably the poster of the season. It is also rare for an NBA player to average double-digit assists in 48 minutes of game time, well Morant did that in just 40 minutes. He could have easily taken a lot of those shots he created for his teammates for himself, but he is a better teammate than that.

The part of Morant’s game that is actually most impressive is nothing he does during the game. His work ethic is truly amazing. He made himself into the player he is now in one season. He went from just another mid-major point guard to the best point guard in the nation in one off-season. If he did that in one year in college what could he do with 10 years with an NBA training
staff?
