Weaknesses

Morant is not really someone who is going to scare you pulling up from range. He has the same issue other athletic point guards have which is they can falter into being too one-dimensional. While he will be able to shooter around 30% from range it is not something people are going to be worried about. With moving to the NBA Morant is going to be facing competition like he has never seen before.

A defender like Klay Thompson is going to realize that Morant is not a great shooter and will take away his driving lanes, which could cause Morant to struggle until he becomes more confident in his shooting. The other in-game weakness he’s going to have to fix is his turnovers. Morant, while although a very good passer sometimes forces too many passes resulting is turning the ball over five times a game which will cost you wins in the NBA.

This is not so much of a weakness, but rather a stigma. Morant went to Murray State; so how much of his stats are due to facing lesser competition? He played well against Marquette, but then struggled shooting against a good defensive Florida State team. We have seen players like Damian Lillard come from Weber State and CJ McCollum come from Lehigh and shake that mid-major stigma, is Morant the next one of those players?
