NBA Comparison – Russell Westbrook

Yes this is a very high praise for a kid coming from Murray State, but he just screams Russell Westbrook. He is quick, athletic, a good passer, a good rebounder for a point guard, and a leader. Westbrook is Mr. Triple-Double which Morant has already proven he is capable of doing.

They both are vicious when they are attacking the rim, and if you are not careful they will put you on someone’s wall. Russell took a little bit of time to become who he is now as I think there is going to be a little learning curve for Morant as well. He won’t be able to make all of those flashy plays against the Raptors like he does against the Austin Peay Governors.

Both Westbrook and Morant also have the tendency to turn the ball over way too much, struggle to shoot the ball with consistency, and on the better side are almost unstoppable when given a step. Morant can be as good as he wants to be, he has an unlimited potential for someone relatively unknown until his game against Alabama this season.

Most years he would be the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft except this year there is Zion. Watch out for Morant he could be a multiple time All-NBA type player.
