John Konchar, Fort Wayne

23 years old | Guard | 6-foot-5 | 200 lbs

Stats (SR): 19.5 ppg (.546/.381/.713), 8.5 rpg, 5.4 apg

John Konchar is widely projected to go undrafted but he still has a shot at being a productive NBA player for many years. A four-year starter for Fort Wayne, Konchar improved every single year at the collegiate level and has emerged as a legitimate all-around threat and NBA prospect. He shoots the ball very well from distance, finishes around the rim, and is above-average for his position as a rebounder and playmaker. Because of this, he projects as a bit of a do-it-all player with one elite skill in his 3-point shooting. Over the course of his college career, the 6-foot-5 wing shot 41.6% from deep on 464 total attempts.

While there are some concerns regarding the fact that he is a career 69.7% shooter from the charity stripe, his form is consistently successful as a 3-point shooter with range. His prolific firing from deep should still translate to the next level. Additionally, it is impossible to overlook that he also finished on 62.7% of his 8.6 2-point shot attempts per game during this past season. For a wing player that shoots a high volume of threes and is receiving all of the defensive attention that the Summit League can throw at him, that is impressive.

Konchar does not boast the “star potential” that some of the players on this list do, but there is a reasonable chance that he is a strong rotation player for many years. And considering he could go undrafted altogether, he is certainly a player to keep an eye on as a great value pick-up. He is highly efficient as a scorer all over the floor, rebounds well, and can be a dynamic playmaker as well. His game should translate well to the next level as a low-risk, low-reward rotation player.
