Following an expected down season, Big East Basketball is once again teeming with top talent in 2019-20. Here are the five best players at each position.

Heading into 2018-19, Big East Basketball was battling a crippling exodus of graduating seniors, transfers, and NBA-aspirants.

The conference managed to stay relevant throughout the regular season, but it was clearly a watered-down version of the league, a truth that was certainly borne out when the Big East representatives combined to go 1-4 in the NCAA tournament with a trio of double-digit pastings.

More from Big East

But fear not! While the conference worked through its growing pains in 2018-19, and there were a few more surprise departures this spring, the conference is reaping the benefits of last season’s youth movement. The majority of the Big East’s top players are back on campus, and the T-Rank system projects seven teams as top-45 programs entering the 2019-20 campaign (and nine schools inside the top-100).

Last year, only 10 of the previous season’s top-25 players returned to the Big East (by PRPG!); this year, that number has jumped to 15 of the top-25. Experience and talent should prove to be a dangerous combination for the rest of the country.

Here are the Big East’s top five players at each position – with some honorable mentions to watch as well – that will likely be jockeying for a place on the 2019-20 all-conference teams by season’s end.
