The 2019 NBA Draft was essential for the Boston Celtics. They walked away with four new additions to their roster, brightening their future in the process. Here is a look at each new player they picked up.
It was a wild and unpredictable season for the Boston Celtics over the past year. A disappointing season has since seemingly carried over to the offseason. With the assumed exits of cornerstone pieces Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, it seems as if the Celts will be resorting back to their youth in order to rise back into prominence.
For that reason, the 2019 NBA Draft was a huge hit-or-miss opportunity for Boston. Luckily, they had a ton of selections to work with. After numerous trades, they ended up selecting at 14, 22, 33, and 51 — adding a nice collection of young talent to their current plethora of rising stars.
Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, Carsen Edwards and Tremont Waters are who they ended up with. Langford and Williams add a solid combination of upside and instant-impact potential at the wing and forward spots, respectively. They looked to add scoring in the second round at the guard spot in Edwards and Waters.
