NBA Draft 2020: Anthony Edwards tops way-too-early two-round mock draft

It’s never too early to look ahead to next season. Here is a way-too-early look at where the top prospects in the 2020 NBA Draft may end up.

The 2019 draft just ended, so now it’s time to look ahead to the 2020 NBA Draft!

While the 2019 draft was billed as a three-player draft (Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, RJ Barrett), many feel the 2020 class is much deeper with a number of potential stars throughout the lottery and even throughout the first round. There isn’t one or two clear stars worth tanking for, but there are 10-15 players with legitimate All-Star potential.

Memphis center James Wiseman, Georgia combo guard Anthony Edwards, and North Carolina combo guard Cole Anthony were all ranked as the country’s top prospect at some point and are projected to be the top three picks for now. However, I project Edwards to be the top pick for now as there are virtually no glaring holes in his game to go along with ideal size and high-level athleticism.

Of course, a lot can and will change over the course of the next year. Zion wasn’t necessarily projected to even be a top-five pick at this time last year and he ended up showing he was a once-in-a-generation kind of talent. That rise is nothing compared to Morant, who wasn’t even projected to be selected. And they ended up going No. 1 and No. 2!

Players will undoubtedly make a similar rise (or fall), but who are NBA teams already looking at and scouting for the 2020 draft? Here are our first projections for both rounds with the draft order based on OddShark’s 2020 NBA championship odds.
