The 2019 NBA Draft was full of trades, surprising picks of NCAA Basketball players, and all-around intrigue. Here are the biggest takeaways from the night in a special Rauf Report.

The 2019 NBA Draft is in the books and, after the first three picks went according to plan, chaos ensued.

There were a record number of trades and picks moved, players selected well before they were expected to, and a handful of players going on unexpected slides.

It was a wild night, which should have been expected given what we knew about the draft. There was a clear top three in Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and RJ Barrett, and then a second tier that filled out the top 10. After that, teams were all over the board in terms of where they had rated prospects. Because of that, some wanted to trade down and some wanted to trade up, creating the chaos we saw.

Now that the dust has settled, it’s time to look at what the results mean. The selection of Zion sent New Orleans into full-on party mode…

…but a few other teams did not feel the same way when the night ended.

Here are the biggest takeaways from the 2019 NBA Draft in a special Rauf Report, starting with the insane amount of trade action we saw.
