The 2019 NBA Draft was one of the craziest in recent memory, between trades, surprises, and slides. Here are the five biggest losers from the draft.

For the first three picks of the 2019 NBA Draft, everything was going as expected. Then, everything went crazy. Leading up to the draft, two trades inside the top six were made, as the Atlanta Hawks moved up to pick No. 4 and the Minnesota Timberwolves moved up to the No. 6 pick in the draft.

Amazingly, that was not the craziest thing about the draft. A couple of players were drafted much higher than expected, while a couple of other players slid much further than anticipated. Obviously, a few of those players that fell will be amongst the losers from the draft night, as well as a couple of teams that either didn’t have a plan or did not execute an apparent plan correctly.

One very important thing to keep in mind when pinning teams as winners or losers immediately after the draft is that nobody will know what these players will end up turning into for at least the next five seasons. It is impossible to predict exact production, as every draft has its steals and busts.

However, for now, we’re going to name a couple of losers anyway. For the teams that lost, their reasons can span from either overdrafting a player, or drafting the wrong player considering the available prospects. For the players, either they went to the wrong team, or they slid unnecessarily. Without further delay, here are the five biggest losers from the 2019 NBA Draft.
