Marquette Basketball released its 2019-20 non-conference schedule on Thursday, and it’s chock full of power conference foes and mid-major tests.

In what was certainly the largest Big East announcement on Thursday, Marquette Basketball unveiled its 2019-20 non-conference slate. The schedule already features three high-major matchups, with a chance for a couple more in Marquette‘s Thanksgiving tournament, as well as dates with several mid-major squads capable of winning their leagues.

Head coach Steve Wojciechowski has gradually been finding his stride as a scheduler. Here are the non-conference strength of schedules for each of Wojo’s first five years (according to CBS):

  • 2014-15: 171st
  • 2015-16: 322nd
  • 2016-17: 190th
  • 2017-18: 138th
  • 2018-19: 77th

The 2019-20 schedule fits into Marquette’s recent trend of non-con improvement. This version may not have the same top-end quality that last year’s calendar presented, but it’s also much deeper in the middle, with very few SOS atrocities. The Golden Eagles will be well-tested in November and December, but there is also an opportunity to win all 12 games.
