Rodney Howard – Greenville, SC

C | 6-foot-11 | 245 lbs | No. 239 overall

Rodney Howard is the only Georgia commit ranked outside of the top-100 of the class this year. With that said, though, he brings a college-ready body to the table as a strong center. Having originally been an Ole Miss signee, Howard was a somewhat recent addition (late May) to this recruiting class for the Bulldogs. Nonetheless, he could be a valuable player due to his size. UGA is rather thin in the frontcourt heading into this coming season and that could open the door for Howard to find some minutes right away, even as a lower-rated recruit.

With regards to his play on the court, Howard uses his size and strength quite well. He bruises inside the paint on both ends of the floor to create space for post moves, rebound at a high rate, and alter shots defensively. He might not stretch the floor with a jumper much at this point but his interior game shows plenty of promise. There is still room for more polish in his game, but his frame is ready for the college level.

With Nic Claxton leaving for the NBA after this past season, the Bulldogs are left a bit undersized in the frontcourt. Howard could help to remedy that on some occasions. The expectation should be that Amanze Ngumezi and Rayshaun Hammonds will hold down the main spots in the frontcourt but Howard could play a role as the second or third big in the rotation.
