Cincinnati basketball has been remarkably successful over the past few years. Who are the incoming 2019 recruiting commits for Coach Brannen?

Cincinnati basketball has been one of the most consistent programs in the nation over the last several years. In fact, the Bearcats are currently in the midst of a streak of nine consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Now, though, the program is under new leadership after the previous head coach, Mick Cronin, elected to take the job at UCLA this offseason. The athletic department ended up hiring former Northern Kentucky head coach John Brannen to be the new leader at UC and it will be interesting to see the transition.

Brannen won 20+ games in each of last three seasons at Northern Kentucky but it is a massive leap in conference affiliation from the Horizon League to the AAC. Additionally, the Bearcats lost a fair amount of talent after this past season so Brannen has had to bring in many of his own newcomers this offseason. This has included the likes of three graduate transfers (Jaevin Cumberland, Chris McNeal, Jaume Sorolla), one sit-out transfer (Chris Vogt), and three incoming 2019 commits.

Considering the number of new faces joining the program, it seems about time to get acquainted with the incoming freshmen who might be donning the UC colors for the next few years. In order for Coach Brannen to continue the program’s recent successes, these players will need to make big plays early and often. Let’s take a deeper look at the three incoming freshmen.
