How about a return to the SEC?

This, of course, is entirely dependent on the outcome of the NCAA’s investigation into the LSU program based on the FBI’s reported findings surrounding head coach Will Wade. If cleared, the Tigers will keep Wade (the fact he’s still the head coach tells you all you need to know about that), but that’s a big if.

He was already suspended after he was reportedly caught on wiretap discussing payment to a recruit, thought to be Ja’vonte Smart, and reportedly paid $300K to secure the commitment of Naz Reid.

LSU is not a traditional basketball power. However, Florida wasn’t when Donovan went there, either, although he was at a much different place in his career. What LSU has done is put a renewed investment and focus on the program, some of which can be drawn back to the SEC regular season championship they just won under Wade. They also have a talented top 25 roster they could appeal to Donovan.

Yet if Wade is out, that means NCAA sanctions are likely to follow. Would Donovan really want to deal with that cleanup and rebuilding process?
