2) Indiana

Indiana is a blueblood program at a crossroads in 2019-20. Archie Miller overachieved in his first season in Bloomington and had the Hoosiers ranked for the entire first half of last season.

However, the second half was a disaster in every sense of the word. They went 1-12 in a 13-game stretch and completely fell out of NCAA Tournament contention. Indiana did make the NIT Quarterfinals, but the Indiana program is not about making the NIT.

He has done well on the recruiting trail, but even there fans feel he has fallen short of expectations. Landing five-star prospect Romeo Langford was huge, but he wasn’t able to stop Indiana’s late-season slide with fans questioning Miller’s ability to develop Langford. Both of those factors – Indiana’s late losing and Langford’s lack of development – pushed several interested top 2019 prospects away, including five-star wing Keion Brooks, an Indiana native who opted for Kentucky instead.

The fan base has already grown restless with Miller with many calling for him to be fired in the midst of that 13-game slide. That was never going to happen. It does, however, set the stage for Miller being on a very hot season this coming season.

Anything short of an NCAA Tournament appearance will be a major disappointment for the Hoosiers and will cost Miller his job. It’s one of the best jobs in college basketball and Indiana has no shortage of resources. If the job does come open, expect the Hoosiers to go all-out after Donovan.

PS, kind of an important year for the Miller brothers, huh?
