Is NCAA basketball the most exciting, unpredictable sport out there? If you judge it by these 25 buzzer-beaters, the answer would have to be yes.

College basketball is one of those sports that thrives on the unpredictable. Any team can pull off an upset at any time and the NCAA Tournament is a prime example for that.

Heck, we’ve seen double-digit seeds make the Final Four as recently as 2018 when Loyola fought its way to the second national semifinal in school history. How did the Ramblers make it that far? It started with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer in the first round to down Miami.

That’s not the only NCAA Tournament run that was decided by the most exciting play in college basketball: the buzzer beater.

Although tournament time has some of the most iconic and memorable buzzer beaters of all time, the regular season has had its fair share — which has often included underdogs taking down Goliaths.

Some of the best buzzer beaters in college basketball history have decided national title games and others have propelled runs to the Final Four. Some have been accounted for by powerhouses and others underdogs with nothing to lose. No matter the scenario, it’s one of the most exciting plays in all of sports, so why not look back at the 25 best of all time?

From Christian Laettner to Kris Jenkins, who else makes the list of the 25 best buzzer beating shots in college basketball history?
