16. Murray State stuns Vanderbilt (2010)

Murray State was on the college basketball map this season because of superstar point guard Ja Morant who helped dismantle Marquette in upset fashion, but the Racers were known even before the lottery pick was on campus.

In fact, back in 2010, Danero Thomas became a household name — at least during the NCAA Tournament.

Vanderbilt entered the game against the No. 13 seed Racers as a favorite, but the Commodores were weary of the 30-4 team from the Ohio Valley Conference. They were right to be worried as Murray State built a four-point lead at the half and tacked on four more in the second half to hold as much as an eight-point advantage.

Vanderbilt came back and felt good until the final seconds when Murray State inbounded the ball with 4.2 seconds left. The Racers looked like they were in scramble mode until Thomas hit that memorable fadeaway.

That was the only win the Racers recorded in that NCAA Tournament, but boy was it a good one.
