11. Loyola’s epic run begins with Miami upset (2018)

When you think of Loyola basketball, you have to think of Sister Jean. She was an unofficial mascot for the Ramblers during their 2018 Final Four run, which was cut short of an unthinkable national title by Michigan.

It was still one of the most memorable cinderella runs in NCAA Tournament history and wouldn’t have been possible without a clutch moment by Donte Ingram.

Down 62-61 to No. 6 Miami, the popular upset pick scrambled to find an open look and settled for a long shot by Ingram at the buzzer. He buried the shot from a few feet beyond the arc and immediately went sprinting to the other end of the floor with pure joy.

Who would have thought this shot helped propel a string of upsets and the school’s first Final Four berth since it won a national title back in 1963?

At that moment, Loyola became everyone’s favorite underdog and it lasted three magical weeks.
