10. Austin Rivers ignites rivalry vs. UNC (2012)

Although Duke fans want to try to forget the 2011-12 NCAA season because of the way it ended, it had one of the most memorable moments in school history.

A talented Duke team that went into the NCAA Tournament with a 27-6 overall record and earned a No. 2 seed fell at the hands of Lehigh in the first round, shocking just about everyone and busting brackets left and right. This was thought to be a Duke team that had the talent to win it all and give Coach K yet another title.

Before that first-round upset though, the Blue Devils pulled off an unbelievable win over No. 5 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on a play that’s still talked about to this day.

Austin Rivers’ claim to fame isn’t that he’s Doc Rivers’ son, but rather he’s the kid that hit the famous game-winner against hated rival North Carolina on the road.

Down two with five seconds left, Rivers stayed calm and nailed a shot from a few feet behind the 3-point line to beat the Tar Heels by one. You can bet the Dean Smith Center was as quiet as a church on Christmas after this make.
