It is still relatively early in the NCAA basketball recruiting season for the 2020 class. What have been some takeaways in the first few active months?

NCAA basketball recruiting is a year-long event. Every single offseason, programs from around the country flock to grassroots basketball events in hopes of gaining relationships with some of the top prospects in the class. Of course, the bluebloods are seemingly always near the top of the team recruiting rankings lists at the end of each year, but other programs are also looking to potentially snag high-profile or under-the-radar prospects. With regards to the 2020 class, the recruiting season is still in its relative infancy despite the fact that most grassroots events are already completed.

Still, there have been plenty of takeaways from top recruitments or commitments in the early going. As one would expect, some elite-level programs in the nation are leading the team recruiting rankings, but others have surprised with some top-150 commitments. Additionally, many players saw their stock rise tremendously over the past few months while competing on the highly-regarded shoe circuits. These players have seen their list of offers expand and their contact with coaches increase.

Of course, there are still several months remaining in the 2020 recruiting season, but here are a few takeaways from the first few months. These takeaways take a look at some programs that are off to hot starts, players that have improved their stock, and even a high school powerhouse emerging out west. So, without any further ado, let’s dive in.
