Kentucky’s 2020 recruiting outlook

Kentucky might not have an early commit from the 2020 class, but it is clear that the program is in good shape for a bunch of extremely talented prospects. Coach Cal and Co. are targeting a wide variety of prospects as a contingency plan for players potentially leaving early after this coming season. As a result, it is hard to say exactly what the coaching staff is planning on building. Still, UK is arguably the best program in the country when it comes to building a cohesive roster structure from top-rated prospects. The coaching staff always seems to realize its needs and fill them before each campaign.

With regards to their current 2020 targets, Kentucky has made significant strides in the past few weeks but it is impossible to say which recruits they will actually land. Additionally, it is important to mention that Kentucky’s list of targets will likely continue to grow in the coming weeks. Several new names have appeared on the radar as of late, such as DJ Steward and Daishen Nix, and more scholarship offers are bound to be issued in the near future.

Considering UK is without an early commit, it is easy for BBN to potentially start to worry. But, given the program’s track record under Coach Cal, it is far from time to panic. Kentucky’s 2020 recruiting class will be just fine and it is reasonable to predict that the final product will still wind up in the nation’s top-10.

The allure of playing for one of the nation’s bluebloods with a shot at winning the national title before heading to the pros is always hard to pass up. As a result, everyone should expect that Kentucky will still land one of the top classes in the country. It will be interesting to see, though, which of these targets will commit to play in Lexington.
