It might be early on the 2020 recruiting trail but some NCAA basketball programs are heavily involved with some of the top prospects in the country already.

Now that the grassroots season is coming to a close, NCAA Basketball schools from around the nation are ramping up their recruiting efforts. For the most part, programs have narrowed down their list of targets and we are entering the “list cutting” and “commitment” phases of the year. Of course, the first signing period is still months away, but coaches everywhere are seeking early commitments from their top targets in the 2020 class. Currently (July 25), only 13 programs have been able to land multiple early commitments.

As a result, the vast majority of top prospects are still uncommitted. That will surely change over the coming year but it is impossible to determine exactly where everyone will end up. This is the time for analyzing visits, interviews, and sometimes even the little breadcrumbs that might be found. Recruiting is the No. 1 way to build up the talent level for a college basketball program and it is always intriguing to see which schools are able to land “breakout” classes. With that said, though, there are a few programs that seem to always find their way to the top of the team class rankings. That’s right, Duke and Kentucky, I’m looking at you.

Now, with recruiting season starting to hit its stride following grassroots play, there are a few programs that seem to be standing out. These schools either already have multiple commitments or seem to be in great positions to potentially land some high-profile prospects. There are definitely some of the “usual suspects” here, but a few others that have been flying a bit under the radar. So, let’s take a look at 10 programs that seem poised to land elite-level 2020 recruiting classes.
