Joshua Christopher is one of the top players in the 2020 recruiting class. Which NCAA Basketball programs are still in the running for his commitment?
Joshua Christopher has been regarded as one of the top players in the 2020 recruiting class since the initial rankings of the age group. As a result, his recruitment has always been a constant story as programs around the nation are excited about his potential as a collegiate (and then professional) superstar. Currently ranked as the No. 9 overall player in the class, Christopher has drawn his fair share of suitors but recently trimmed his list down to just five: UCLA, Missouri, Arizona State, Michigan, and Kentucky.
The 6-foot-4 guard is fresh off an electric season on the EYBL circuit as one of the top scorers at every single event. Throughout each session, Christopher showcased his phenomenal finishing ability around the rim. With his strong frame and solid athleticism, he does an exceptional job getting to the basket and there are few better when it comes to consistently finishing in close. He is also more than just a functional defender as he uses his length and strength well to lock down opposing guards.
Over the course of the 2019 Nike EYBL circuit, Christopher posted averages of 21.4 points (.440/.224/.711), 5.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. He was clearly one of the star players for Vegas Elite (NV) and was the driving force in pushing the team to Peach Jam. His team did not make it out of pool play at the nation’s biggest grassroots event, but it was still an all-around solid campaign for Christopher.
