Ethan Happ is one of the most accomplished big men of the last few years. What were the top performances from his time with Wisconsin Basketball?

NCAA Basketball history is littered with players who dominated at the collegiate level but for one reason or another did not have a game that translated well to the NBA. As college basketball fans, we should take the time to celebrate these players’ terrific careers and not solely focus on those who had their names called on draft night. No player is as deserving of such recognition following the 2018-19 season as Wisconsin Basketball’s Ethan Happ.

Happ started every game of his collegiate career, leading the Badgers through a coaching change and notching three NCAA tournament appearances. He racked up numerous awards and accolades including a consensus second-team All-American nod last season.

As an analytics junkie, Happ holds an extra special place in my heart. He has finished as a Top-5 player in the nation in overall rating each of the last three seasons, per prophetratings.com. This rating takes into account every aspect of a player’s game to try to determine their impact on their team’s success. Happ shines in this metric as was an exceptional defensive player, an impactful rebounder, and he had great passing abilities for a big man. Happ’s player efficiency rating was near 30.0 in each of those seasons as well, a level only matched by a handful of players each season.

Happ signed to play with Olympiacos in Greece in recent days, per Eurohoops.net, so it might not be the last we hear from him. Let’s take this opportunity to reflect on his great career by looking back on the five most memorable performances of his career.
