Lebron James is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever walk the face of the earth and now a lot of attention has been placed upon his son, Bronny James. That could be the perfect fit with Duke Basketball if he goes to college.

Lebron James‘ son; Bronny James has gotten a lot of attention as of late, as he prepares for his freshman year at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California. However, before Bronny’s freshman year it appears as if we already know where he will be playing in college.

It appears as if Bronny will be part of Duke Basketball, IF he does attend college of course. Bronny is a member of the Class of 2023 and right now it seems as if the one-and-done rule will be gone prior to the 2021 or 2022 NBA Draft(s).

What this means is that players in the 2021 or 2022 NBA Draft and beyond, will be eligible to enter the NBA straight out of high school, a rule that we haven’t seen since before the 2006 Draft.

So this being said, since Bronny is a member of the Class of 2023, there is a very good chance he follows in his father’s footsteps and goes straight to the NBA rather than spending a year or two in college.

However, if Bronny does wind up going to college, I think it is rather safe to say that he will do so for Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils.

Back in July of 2018, Bronny and his AAU team took a visit to Durham, NC (home of Duke University) where they got a tour of the Duke basketball facilities as well as getting the chance to meet players such as Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish and obviously Coach K.

Since that visit to Duke, Bronny has been spotted on multiple occasions wearing a Duke basketball sweatshirt. Now you could call me crazy if you thought I was drawing a conclusion based on the fact that he wears a school’s sweatshirt on occasion.

No, there are several other signs that point to Bronny attending Duke to play at least one season under the greatest college basketball coach of all-time. If you don’t believe me when I say Coach K is the greatest of all-time, maybe you’ll listen to Lebron James himself:

The fact that Lebron is saying he hopes Coach K is still there once Bronny is old enough to learn from the coach also known as “The GOAT” says a lot. It could also mean that even if the NBA gets rid of the one-and-done rule before the 2023 NBA Draft, Bronny still might go to college for at least one season.

It is also worth noting that Bronny does not yet have an offer from Duke, but Coach K has seen the rising freshman play on several occasions, as recent as this past April.

The only offer Bronny has at the moment is from the Kentucky Wildcats, but he has yet to take an official visit.

We will likely see Coach K go to a couple Sierra Canyon games this season if possible, seeing the team is stacked with sons of former and current NBA greats. Sierra Canyon’s roster includes Lebron James’ son Bronny, Shaquille O’Neal’s son Shaqir, Dwyane Wade’s son Zaire and several other great players.

This being said, you will likely see Duke among many other teams across the country attend a couple of these games to see these guys play and try to convince them to attend their school.

Keep this in the back of your mind as we enter the 2019-20 season because I believe Bronny will pick up an offer from Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils before the season ends. Once that happens it will be all but a done deal if Bronny does wind up attending college should he choose not to go straight to the NBA.
