12. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (Nov 9)

2018-19 record: 14-17 (9-7)

The good news for the Wildcats is that they return their top two scorers from last season in Malik Maitland (13.7 ppg) and Cletrell Pope, who averaged 14.1 ppg and 12.2 rpg, good for third in the country overall. The problem is that essentially the rest of the rotation is gone, including three seniors and Isaiah Bailey, who played in just a couple of games last year before suffering a season-ending injury. He went pro afterwards, leaving Bethune-Cookman with not much else after their top guys.

11. Tennessee State Tigers (Nov 21)

2018-19 record: 9-21 (6-12)

The top two scorers for the team transferred, leaving no double-digit scorers for the Tigers. But they should have a strong returning senior backcourt with Michael Littlejohn and Tripp Davis coming back. They also add a few JUCO transfers to the roster as well to have plenty of upperclassmen in the Ohio Valley next season.

10. Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners (Dec 29)

2018-19 record: 18-16 (7-9)

With Jarkell Joiner transferred home to Ole Miss, the Roadrunners lose their three of their top four scorers from last season. That leaves junior guard Justin Edler-Davis to lead this roster, adding Richmond transfer De’Monte Buckingham, who averaged 12.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg his last year of playing. Cal State Bakersfield also adds some JUCO transfers as well, including Czar Perry and Shawn Stith.

9. Southern Miss Golden Eagles (Dec 16)

2018-19 record: 20-13 (11-7)
The Eagles will have to make do without their two best players Tyree Griffin and Cortez Edwards but will bring back a strong duo in LaDavius Draine (11.3 ppg) and forward Leonard Harper-Baker (9.6 ppg and 8.0 rpg). Senior big man Tim Rowe will have a bigger role next season while several freshmen led by Gabe Watson will be part of the rotation. There might not be much of a drop-off for Southern Miss.
