Posh Alexander is one of the best playmakers in the 2020 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. Which of his five finalists are best suited to land him?

Don’t let the size fool you. Despite being just 5’11, Posh Alexander is one of the most fearless high school players in the country. The Bronx, New York native is an aggressive driver to the basket and is almost impossible to stop from penetrating one-on-one. He’s athletic with a decent shot and can facilitate the offense. Although he’s a little short to play the shooting guard role in NCAA Basketball, Alexander can play alongside any other point guard, something we’re seeing more common in the game.

Despite missing most of his junior season with a broken arm, Alexander came back strong this AAU circuit in the Spring to legitimize his top-100 ranking according to 247sportsComposite. He projects to be a solid contributor at the next level and could end up as an All-Conference player when it’s all said and done. But durability could be an issue for a player with his aggressiveness going up against bigger and strong guys.

Alexander has recently cut down his list to a final group of five teams – Dayton, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Illinois and Seton Hall. All five programs have been known to land New York recruits and are hoping to do the same with him. Here’s a breakdown of Alexander’s fit with each finalist.

Dayton Flyers

The Fylers are a projected top-30 team for next season after returning most of their production, along with adding a few quality transfers who sat out last year. One of them is junior Rodney Chatman, who averaged 4.5 apg his last season at Chattanooga. He and incumbent point guard Jalen Crutcher (5.7 apg with Dayton last season) will form a nice upperclassmen duo on the perimeter.

Alexander might not play much his freshman year with those two seniors still around but he’d be the catalst of the offense from then on for Anthony Grant, who has kept Dayton among the top teams in Atlantic 10.
