2. The University of North Carolina

Coming in at second on Cade Cunningham’s final five schools we have The University of North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels have been one of the most, if not THE most successful teams as of late.

UNC has won a National Championship, made it to two Final Fours, four Sweet Sixteens and all five NCAA Tournaments since 2015. If that’s a stat that doesn’t stand out compared to the other three teams already mentioned on Cunningham’s list, I’m not quite sure what will.

UNC has proven to be an elite college basketball program and they will likely keep that up for the foreseeable future. In addition to North Carolina’s success in NCAA Basketball, they have also had eight players taken in the NBA Draft since 2015.

It is because of this that UNC has become a much better team when it comes to recruiting as of late. In addition to the fact that players will have the chance to compete at the highest level of college basketball, they will also get the exposure it takes to be a top draft pick.

We saw that this past season as former Tar Heels, Coby White and Cameron Johnson made UNC one of only three schools to have multiple players drafted in the top-15.

In addition to all this, UNC is one of only three schools who has at least one committed player ranked in the top-35 for the Class of 2020. With this being said, Cunningham would have the chance to make a dynamic duo with Day’Ron Sharpe who is currently ranked 34th overall in the Class of 2020.

Another thing that UNC can offer that no other school on this list can is the chance to play in a conference full of teams with a combined six National Championships since 2009.

If Cunningham committed to UNC he’d be playing against top ranked players and teams night in and night out, which could go a long way as it pertains to his draft stock once he enters the draft.

The University of North Carolina is a great option for Cade Cunningham, but it isn’t the best one on his list of five teams.
