Kentucky Wildcats

Why do many think the Wildcats are in the driver’s seat for Todd? Well, as Todd told Evan Daniels of 247sports at Peach Jam, they have just about everything he’s looking for.

“The guys that come from Kentucky, the history of the school, the style of play, the coach himself, he’s really real. That’s what everyone says about [John Calipari] and I really got to witness that just talking to him.”

Calipari might be the best at developing top prospects and getting them to the NBA, and he has a tremendous track record with multi-faceted big men. DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Bam Adebayo, and P.J. Washington all became lottery picks because of how they played under Calipari at Kentucky.

Todd also knows that he won’t be the only star freshman playing for Kentucky in 2020-21. The Wildcats always bring in high-level recruiting classes and the 2020 class may end up being one of Calipari’s best. They already have a commitment from BJ Boston Jr., a top 10 player in the class, and are considered a favorite for six other five-star prospects.

Todd’s ability to play in the post, on the wing, or handle the ball would make him an ideal player on a potential superteam like this. His versatility would let Calipari tinker with his lineups (we all know how much he loves to do that) while keeping Todd on the floor.

Though he doesn’t know when yet, Todd will also be taking an official visit to Kentucky.
