Wisconsin basketball is off to a strong 2020 recruiting start with three early commits. Which targets might finish off the class for the Badgers?

Wisconsin basketball is in the midst of a transition phase. Head coach Greg Gard is now entering his fourth season as the leader of the program and there are no longer any major holdovers from the Bo Ryan era of the program. With that said, it is time for Coach Gard’s schemes and recruiting philosophies to take center stage with his own talent. With regards to the future of the program, the Badgers are off to a strong start in the 2020 recruiting class with three early commits. There are, though, still two more scholarships open for the coaching staff to work with.

This 2020 recruiting class has the opportunity to special and therefore it is important that the Badgers hit on at least one of their remaining scholarships. While it is certainly reasonable to hold one of these for a potential incoming transfer, I would expect that the coaching staff lands at least one more currently uncommitted prospect. With that said, this could be one of the top-ranked recruiting classes in program history. At this point in time, it seems as though there are four prospects have emerged as priorities for Wisconsin’s class.

These are almost all front court pieces and that is a logical route to take. With a talented young backcourt currently on the roster and some solid guards already committed in this class, it makes sense to add forwards and bigs to the fray. Coach Gard seems to be in line to land a well-rounded class that could set the program up for success down the road.

So, without any further ado, let’s dive into Wisconsin’s 2020 class and take a look at the early commits as well as four of the potential top priorities at this moment.
