Georgia Tech basketball is in hot pursuit of four-star forward and South Carolina native P.J. Hall. What did he have to say about his recruitment?

P.J. Hall, a 6-foot-9 power forward from South Carolina, recently named Georgia Tech as part of his final five. The stretch four is seen as a potential program-changer by the Georgia Tech staff and presumably their No. 1 post target for the 2020 cycle. I was able to catch up with P.J. recently and he was kind enough to answer a few quick questions for me.

Q: Have you set up your official visit with Georgia Tech yet? The date has yet to be updated by 247Sports.

PJH: “I have set up my official with GT but my mom set them up. I can’t remember off the top of my head what the date is.”

Q: Which program are you hearing from the most?

PJH: “I hear from all the schools pretty equally. But, I definitely hear from GT almost every day. I have a great relationship with Julian Swartz, and Coach Pastner.”

Q: All five programs will have frontcourt minutes available for you from the start. Is that your largest consideration? Or is it proximity to home? Area of Study? What made these schools stand out to you?

PJH: “What really stands out for me is the family environment. If you look at all five, you can really see that. All the schools have a tight-knit team. The location from home wasn’t a big deal but all the schools are from either ACC or SEC so all of them are not too far.”

Q: Are you targeting an early commitment this fall or just taking the process as it comes?

PJH: “I will be committing early. I want to get it out of the way so I don’t waste the coaches’ time or the school’s time as a whole. I also want to be focused on my senior season.”

Q: Your rise in the rankings over the last year or so has been meteoric, what do you attribute this to?

PJH: “The reason for my rise? Well, really I can only thank God because without him I wouldn’t be anything. He can take my legs out from under me but no, he enables me to play the game I love. I also can’t thank my parents enough for putting me in the position to be seen with AAU and everything. And when I saw an opportunity I took advantage of it.”

Q: GT Coach Eric Reveno is hailed as a “Big Man Whisperer.” Have you been able to speak to him at all/pick his brain?

PJH: “I have not been able to talk with coach Reveno but I definitely look forward to it. I heard amazing things about him and I know he turns players into machines.”

P.J. Hall is clearly one of the best power forward prospects in the 2020 class. He is ranked at No. 68 overall and will be a valuable addition to whichever school he chooses. Georgia Tech basketball clearly is in hot pursuit.
