Nimari Burnett – Napa, CA

CG | 6-foot-3 | 185 lbs | No. 23 overall

Nimari Burnett is a tough prospect to pinpoint favorites considering his list has only been cut to 12 at this point in time. With that many contenders, there aren’t any major “leans” for the young combo guard. With that said, though, Michigan did make the initial cut and it would be reasonable to assume that there is still ongoing communication. Burnett is expected to make another trim to his list in the near future and the Wolverines have to hopeful that they will continue to stay involved. At 6-foot-3, Burnett brings plenty of size as a combo guard and a ton of skill.

With his scoring ability around the basket and high-quality court vision, Burnett projects as someone who can play either guard position. Depending on what his team needs him to do, Burnett can create for others at a high rate or emerge as a go-to scorer. This kind of versatility will make him a strong addition to any team, especially early in the recruiting season as he will be easy to build around. With regards to Michigan, specifically, he would pair nicely with Zeb Jackson to create a dangerous future backcourt.

Over the course of this summer, Burnett competed for Team WhyNot (CA) on the Nike EYBL circuit. With his versatile skill set, he was a major piece for a very successful team. In 20 total contests on the circuit, Burnett averaged 19.1 points (.458/.769/.307), 4.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. The expectation should be that he will be a highly-capable guard at the college level.
