Class of 2021 top-50 NCAA Basketball recruit Carter Whitt has three visits set up prior to Labor Day.
Consensus NCAA Basketball four-star prospect Carter Whitt has had a busy summer and recently announced that he will make a few college visits prior to Labor Day. One of the best point guards in the class of 2021, Whitt is slated to unofficially visit Florida on Aug. 12. He is also scheduled to make a trip to Ohio State in a few weeks and then is set to visit Boston College over Labor Day Weekend. Whitt is considering reclassifying to 2020.
Whitt is a true floor general, preferring to set up his teammates rather than creating for himself, not that he is incapable of doing that. The Leesville Road High School product possesses a high basketball IQ, high-motor and is a good decision-maker. Per Phenom Hoop Report, programs are infatuated with his ability to finish and pace of play among other attributes.
The 6-3 lead guard currently holds 19 offers with Ohio State, Iowa State, Maryland, Tennessee, East Carolina, and Marquette being the latest programs to make overtures. He has also drawn early interest from Virginia and NC State, possessing offers from both schools. However, the Raleigh native still would like to nab at least two more offers.
“Duke and North Carolina,” Whitt told Jason Jordan of USAToday when asked if there were any teams missing from his list. “I grew up 30 minutes from there, so I’ve watched both of those schools all my life. It doesn’t mean that I’ll go there or not go there, but, like most guys, I want the option.”
While Whitt is ranked as a four-star prospect by all the major recruiting outlets, he is not ranked among the top 100 players in the class by ESPN. 247Sports has him at No. 57 in their rankings and 247Sports Composite put him at No. 51. He is also rated 44th by Rivals.
It is hard to tell at this point what direction Whitt will go with his recruitment. But he is definitely someone to keep tabs on, regardless when he decides to enter the college ranks
