Projected Rotation

PG: Key 30 minutes, Buchanan 6, King 4

SG: Buchanan 28, Arians 6, Brown 4

SF: Arians 30, Scheierman 6, Fiegen 4

PF: Wilson 28, Dillon 8, Fiegen 4

C: Dentlinger 30, Wilson 6, Dillon 4

Totals: Arians 36 minutes, Buchanan 34, Wilson 34, Key 30, Dentlinger 30, Dillon 12, Fiegen 8, Scheierman 6, King 4, Brown 4

With the coaching change and massive amount of production departed, the only piece of the South Dakota State rotation that seems certain going into the year is Arians holding down a full-time spot in the starting lineup and primary role in the offense, and that Henderson will keep a similar system and style in place.

Building from that, the starting lineup will likely see Key and Buchanan start alongside Arians. Though Arians is more of a shooting guard, he played much of last season alongside two other ball handlers in King and Jenkins. Key will fill in the role of King at the point as a non-primary scorer, and Buchanan should slot into a scoring role, similar to the void left by Jenkins.

In the frontcourt, Dentlinger, who had some spot starts last year, should be in line for the starting center position. Wilson, despite his lack of shooting, should start at the power forward spot to provide rebounding support to allow the three-guard lineup to be sustainable.

King, Fiegen, and Dillon will likely spearhead the bench unit, but those minutes may be limited, as the SDSU system has tended toward heavy minute loads for the starters.
