Class of 2020 underrated NCAA Basketball prospect Rubin Jones recently paired his school list down to three.

2020 guard Rubin Jones has trimmed his list down to three NCAA Basketball schools: Tulsa, North Texas, and Louisiana Tech. The 6-4 combo guard also held offers from Northeastern, Troy, East Tennessee State, Nicholls State, and UTEP.

Jones is long with decent athleticism. He possesses tight handles, which allow him to play in small places, and is an outstanding finisher. He is also a capable perimeter shooter when given room as he has a nice smooth left-handed stroke.

Here is a look at the three schools.

Tulsa: The Golden Hurricanes have not made a postseason appearance in each of the last three years. But they have had relatively good success under sixth-year head coach Frank Haith — who is 95-66 at Tulsa and 54-36 during AAC play. Tulsa went 18-14 overall although 8-10 in the conference last year.

Tulsa is expected to have two scholarships available in 2020, and the Hurricanes could use to upgrade their point guard position. Elijah Joiner, a key reserve in 2018-19, will be a senior next year and freshmen Isaiah Hill and George Christopaulus (walk-on) are the other point guards on the roster.

North Texas: The Mean Green have won 20 games in each of the past two seasons and claimed the CBI title in 2018. While North Texas is 41-30 overall under third-year coach Grant McCasland, the Mean Green is just 16-20 in C-USA play. They have finished just seventh and ninth place in the conference the past two seasons.

Louisana Tech: The Bulldogs have won 20 or more games in six of their last seven seasons. However, they have not won a conference title since coach Mike White‘s last campaign with the program in 2014-15. While they have finished just eighth and ninth in the conference, LTU is 83-49 overall and 43-30 in C-USA play under fifth-year coach Eric Konkol. This includes going 20-13 and 9-9 in 2018-19. The Bulldogs have three scholarships available for the 2020 season and need help at point guard.

Prediction: In a very close battle between North Texas and Louisiana Tech, I believe that the Mean Green will ultimately win out. North Texas is closer to the Houston native’s home than the other two schools. Also, McCasland uses a four-guard lineup which should mean Jones’ has a good chance of playing there.
