More NCAA Basketball recruiting tidbits
- 2021 Ike Cornish picked up an offer from Coastal Carolina on Aug. 29. The Baltimore (MD.) native is a lengthy wing who can breakdown defenders off the dribble and finish at the rim while also possessing a smooth stroke from long distance. The 6-6 small forward is also excellent in transition and very active on the defensive end. Cornish holds 10 offers including UMass, George Washington, and Boise State.
- Eastern Kentucky will host 2020 prospect in 6-3 shooting guard Marques Warrick (Lexington, Ken.). Warrick holds seven total offers with Valparaiso, IUPUI, Eastern Kentucky, Bellarmine, Northern Kentucky, Kent State, and NJIT.
- 2020 6-9 power forward George Lefebvre (Montreal, Can.) picked up his fourth offer when Vermont made an overture on Aug. 28. He also holds offers from Oakland, Siena, and American.
- 2021 6-5 small forward Numeer Nelson (Philadelphia, PA) pulled in his first scholarship offer, from Delaware State, on Aug. 28.
- 2020 6-7 forward Ze’Rik Onyema (San Antonio, TX) picked up his third D-I offer, from UTEP, on Aug. 28. Army and Navy are the other two programs to make overtures.
- 2019 6-2 shooting guard Ahmadu Sarnor (Coatesville, PA.) enrolled at Mississippi Valley State University on Aug. 29.
- 2020 Trinidad State JC (Col.) sophomore forward Bilal Shabazz received an offer from Cleveland State on Aug. 28. The long and athletic 6-8 forward can score a number of ways and is an excellent rebounder. He also is strong defensively. Shabazz averaged 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks.
- 2021 6-5 shooting guard Daniel Nixon (NYC, NY) received a scholarship from La Salle on Aug. 29. Nixon, who holds a total of five offers, recently took an unofficial visit to Temple.
- 2020 prospect Bowen Born (Norwalk, Iowa) committed to Northern Iowa. The 5-11 point guard is an excellent shooter, can score from all three levels, and possesses strong handles. He averaged 27.8 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep last year as a junior. Born chose UNI over Drake, South Dakota, and Toledo, among others.
- 2021 6-5 wing Tristian Jeffries (Jersey City, NJ) took an unofficial visit to Stony Brook on Aug. 30. Jeffries currently holds three offers — Stony Brook, Columbia, and Bryant, among others.
- 2020 5-11 point guard Isaiah Wilson (Pittsburgh, PA) started his official visit to Richmond on Aug. 30. Wilson holds 13 offers including Fordham, DePaul, St. Bonaventure, and Georgetown.
- Former Oregon power forward Miles Norris has enrolled at the City College of San Fransisco (JC). Norris, who is a former top-100 recruit, averaged 3.3 points and 1.7 caroms in 27 appearances last year for the Ducks.
