NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top prospects take official visits over Labor Day

This edition of the NCAA Basketball Recruiting Notebook will look at several players that took official visits of Labor Day Weekend including Charles Bediako, Kordell Charles, Adam Miller, and Devin Askew.

Charles Bediako and Kordell Charles visit Michigan State

Top-75 2021 prospect Charles Bediako took an unofficial to Michigan State on Aug. 30. It is his third unofficial visit as the 6-11 center has also made trips to Ohio State and Dayton. He holds nine total offers from Alabama, Maryland, TCU, Providence, Ohio State, Ohio, Rutgers, Illinois, and Detroit.

Bediako’s stock has seen his stock rise since an impressive showing with the Canadian U19 national team in the FIBA World Cup. The St. Catherine, Ontario, native scored in double-figures four times and produced one double-double. He finished the tournament with averages of 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 65.4% from the field.

The 17-year-old  has impressive physical attributes possessing the right side of size, length, and athleticism. Bediako runs the floor well,  is a strong rebounder, and has demonstrated potential on the offensive end. He has been rated four-stars by all four major recruiting services with ESPN having him ranked at No. 35 in the country.

Kordell Charles is joining Bediako on the trip. The Unionville, Canada, native is a three-plus star small forward who currently holds offers from Tulsa, Ohio, St. Bonaventure, and Detroit.

The 6-7 wing is long and athletic and possesses the capability of scoring at the rim as well as off the bounce from the perimeter. He is also a good defender. Charles is ranked four-stars by Rivals and 247Sports Composite while 247Sports has him rated as a three-star prospect.
