Season Outlook

Once again, despite undergoing a complete roster change, Washington should be among the premier teams in the Pac-12. Isaiah Stewart and Jaden McDaniels not only bring an offensive tenacity that the Huskies did not have last year, but their length will transition well into the 2-3 zone, too.

Washington should enter conference play with a similar record to last year, if not better. Nahziah Carter and Hameir Wright’s experience will help early on, and come Quade Green’s eligibility in time for conference play, the Huskies will hit the gas.

Mike Hopkins has done a great job managing Washington’s roster. Despite the near-full rotation change, he brings in enough talent to make the Huskies competitive once again. Some may argue with Green, Stewart and McDaniels, UW could be even better.

Washington should be NCAA Tournament-bound once again this season. Inexperience could be an issue early on, as there are no seniors in the starting lineup, but come Pac-12 play, the Huskies will be among the favorites to win the conference.

Fans should be excited for this year, as Washington is finally establishing itself as perennial contenders in the Pac-12. A deep run in the NCAA Tournament could be on the horizon for a Huskies team which boasts a 2-3 zone that always seems to work its magic in March, along with a much more potent offense than a season ago.
