Alabama basketball is ushering in a new era under head coach Nate Oats. Which 2020 prospects are the Crimson Tide recruiting most?

Alabama basketball has been a consistently strong force on the recruiting trail over the last several years. Even though this has not resulted in a great deal of success on the court, it is impossible to ignore that Tuscaloosa is a favorable destination for some of the best high school players in the country. Now with Nate Oats taking over the head coach of the program, Alabama could quickly emerge as more than “just a football school” in the coming years.

Coach Oats is fresh off an impressive stretch of seasons while leading the Buffalo Bulls. In addition to guiding Buffalo to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four years, Coach Oats was also able to secure some high-level commitments. It is not easy to recruit at the mid-major level but he snagged three straight top-100 recruiting classes in the nation. If he was able to do that while at Buffalo, it could be astonishing what Coach Oats pulls off with more resources at Alabama.

Even though he is yet to coach a single game for the Crimson Tide, there is a tremendous amount of excitement surrounding his hiring. Coach Oats looks poised to take the program’s recruiting up another notch into the “elite” category of college basketball. He could emerge as a truly dominating force on the trail while improving the overall talent level of the program. Additionally, Coach Oats is highly-regarded as a motivator and in-game tactician. He is a budding star in the coaching ranks and could seriously turn the Alabama basketball program around.
