Nimari Burnett – Chicago, IL

CG | 6-foot-3 | 185 lbs | No. 21 overall

Nimari Burnett is a lengthy 6-foot-3 combo guard with the ability to impact each game in a variety of ways. With the ball in his hands, there are very few players who probe defenses better. He is remarkably strong when driving to the basket and consistently gets past his main defender. Once in the lane, Burnett either finishes at the rim at a high rate or dishes to an open shooter on the perimeter. His ability to distribute in the half-court is incredibly valuable.

Additionally, Burnett is a solid shooter from beyond the arc. He is a consistent threat to knock down a few 3-pointers and this keeps the defense honest. This furthers his ability to attack the basket.

Over the course of Nike EYBL season, Burnett showcased his all-around skill. The combo guard posted averages of 19.1 points (.458/.307/.769), 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while playing in 20 contests for Team WhyNot.

Burnett is clearly one of the top guards in the entire 2020 class and Alabama is heavily interested in landing his commitment. The Crimson Tide have long been rumored as one of the favorites in this recruitment and they are in his final four along with Michigan, Oregon, and Texas Tech.

Considering Alabama will likely lose Kira Lewis to the NBA after this coming season, there is a logical spot in the rotation for Burnett to slide into right away. Burnett would be a superb snag for Coach Oats as the likely crowning jewel of his 2020 recruiting class.
