Best NCAA Basketball programs of all-time: 12. Arizona basketball

One of the signature programs of the Pac-12, the Wildcats have arguably been the best program on the West Coast since John Wooden left UCLA.

Arizona won their lone national championship in 1997, which was the third of their four appearances in the Final Four (1988, 1994, 2001). All of those appearances came during the program’s streak of 25 consecutive tournament bids from 1985-2009, which is the third-longest streak ever.

Nationally, the Wildcats rank 14th all-time in wins (1,813) and 7th in win percentage (.657). They have also been ranked No. 1 in the AP poll for 37 weeks,  which is the eighth-most ever.

This is largely due to their dominance in the Pac-12, which has been unparalleled.

Since joining the conference (then the Pac-10) in 1978, they have won 16 regular-season conference titles and seven conference tournament titles. The Wildcats have also posted a one-loss conference record on five occasions – the rest of the conference has combined for two since Arizona joined (no team has ever gone undefeated in Pac-12 play).
