Georgia Basketball has a revamped roster heading into the 2019-20 season. Should they be considered an SEC sleeper?

For a team that went 2-16 last season in SEC play, Georgia Basketball still somehow managed to put together a top-10 recruiting class in the nation. A strong group of returners headlined by RayShaun Hammonds, senior Tyree Crump, and this top ten recruiting class is turning heads in the SEC as the Bulldogs could end up being a player for an at large bid. Seven freshmen will join the program this season and a lot of them are about to be thrown right into the fire.

A poor season last year saw Georgia finish near the bottom of the SEC yet the Bulldogs have somehow managed to land the number two player in the country in Anthony Edwards. Edwards has the capability of taking the Bulldogs to the next level and the ability to take over the game. A mixture of the exciting young freshman and the experience of guys like Hammonds and Crump have the ability to take Georgia to the next level. They’ll be a lot more competitive this year in the SEC than last year.

We continue on with our preseason sleeper watch series and dive into the Georgia Bulldogs. We’ll take a look at some of their key players for this season. Look ahead at some of their big non-conference matchups. Take a peek at the SEC and finally give my thoughts on Tom Crean and the overall outlook for the Bulldogs this season.
