Why you should know Healy

The guard spent a year in the United States before deciding to attend Albany. Healy spent his last year of High School at the Montverde Academy in Florida. As a member of Montverde, the guard helped guide them to a National Championship. After a redshirt season his first year at Albany he has turned into one of the better scorers in the America East conference and is currently on pace to become one of the better players in Albany history.

After his freshman season, the sophomore guard posted averages of 16.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He led the team in scoring and assists, and while leading the team in scoring set the Great Danes freshman scoring record with 512 total points for the season. Healy is a deadly three-point shooter, making over 40% of his attempts from long-range. The guard is not shy about shooting the ball as he set Albany records for both three-pointers made with 104 and three-pointers attempted with 251. In a game against UMBC last season, Healy was 5-6 from three-point range. Those five made threes were the most makes in a game in Albany Great Danes history. Healy still has three years to leave an indelible mark on the Albany record books.

The Great Danes and their coaching staff trust Healy. This was evidenced by the fact he played and started every single game last season. The sophomore rarely left the floor playing a shade under 35 minutes a game for the season. The ability of the guard to get to the free-throw line, coupled with his overall scoring ability allowed him to be on the floor the majority of the game. The Great Danes are going to need the guard to be at his best yet again this season if they want to meet the lofty expectations coach Will Brown has instilled in their fan base.
